The 6th Steel & Metal Korea 2020

The 6th International Steel and Non-ferrous Metal Industry Exhibition (SMK2020), Korea's only steel and non-ferrous metal exhibition will be held at EXCO in Daegu for three days from November 4 to November 6, 2020.

Korea has ranked fifth in steel production rate in 2018 and steel consumption per capita was 1,130kg, which was ranked first in the world in 2016.

SMK2020 will display state-of-the-art metal materials and technologies for manufacturing 4.0 such as future automobiles(electricity, hydrogen), secondary batteries, and IoT focusing on the latest metal materials and technologies such as the top 10 high-value steel materials, high-performance steel pipes/wire cables, and eco-friendly and safe facilities.

Besides, social issues on the environment and industrial safety such as air pollution, greenhouse gases and waste are expanding these days. In light of that, the SMK2020 will provide an effective business platform for participating companies by holding “The 1th Steel & Metal Environment·Safety Infrastructure Exhibition”, emphasizing the transition to a sustainable low-carbon economy.

Meanwhile, Gyeongsangbuk-do, the host of this exhibition, accounts for 22.3% of Korea’s crude steel production. And about 20% of the 350 steel companies are located in Gyeongsangbuk-do, including the world's major steel company POSCO and Hyundai Steel.

Concurrently, Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency and SMK2020 will host 1:1Buiness meeting with international buyers. Steel technology symposiums and technology seminars which can be used as an opportunity for participating companies to create new demand and entering the Asian market.

It is expected that companies will be able to find solutions to high-value steel and metal materials,  and eco-friendly issues through SMK2020.
