LASYS 2022 is right around the corner: The laser material processing industry is coming together in Stuttgart from 21 to 23 June 2022. Exhibitors and visitors alike can look forward to an in-person trade fair with a high-quality accompanying programme. Although LASYS is forgoing coronavirus-related entrance restrictions, its “Safe Expo” hygiene concept guarantees a safe visit to the Stuttgart exhibition centre. Due to its location in one of the strongest economic regions at the centre of Europe, which benefits from optimal links to the international airport, motorway and local public, getting to LASYS is made easy for the trade audience.

“Our trade visitors can look forward to a diverse and high-quality programme at LASYS,” says Gunnar Mey, Division Director Trade Fairs & Events at Messe Stuttgart. “Thanks to the commitment of our exhibitors and our cooperation with leading trade associations and numerous scientific institutions, LASYS is becoming a platform for exchanging information, experience and practical knowledge. We also encourage networking between research and industry as well as networking within the industry itself.”

Interested parties can find an overview of the accompanying programme here.

Stuttgart Laser Technology Forum (SLT): the international forum for the laser industry

With contributions from well-known representatives from research and development, the Stuttgart Laser Technology Forum offers a competent overview of the latest trends in laser technology. In particular, the SLT will also provide an insight into the essentials associated with this, with a view to identifying possible new applications. This will be complemented by industry contributions documenting the current development and implementation status of the innovations.

Alongside the SLT, the “Lasers in Action” technical forum is also running three days of practice-based lectures live in the exhibition hall.

Information on the Stuttgart Laser Technology Forum can be found here.

EPIC meeting on beam shaping: technologies and applications of diffractive optics

At the EPIC meeting, the European Photonics Industry Consortium (EPIC) will be focusing on laser beam shaping for industrial applications. On Wednesday 22 June, new concepts in laser beam shaping, different technologies and applications of diffractive optics and specialty fibres will be presented, fostering new collaborations across the entire value chain. Laser manufacturers, system integrators and companies using lasers in manufacturing and material processing applications are invited to the lectures and the subsequent discussion on new requirements and existing solutions.

Expert talks from Bayerisches Laserzentrum GmbH (blz): harnessing laser tools

Laser protection, innovative beam shaping and process control during ultra-short laser pulse processes: In addition to lectures from experts, the expert talks from Bayerisches Laserzentrum GmbH (blz) will also offer the opportunity for professional discussion. As an innovative and independent research company, the blz helps users to utilise laser tools in production processes. The hour-long expert talks, which are held daily, are free of charge for trade fair visitors.

More information on the expert talks from the blz are available here.

WLT: Meet the experts: insights into ongoing research

WLT is also offering an exciting insight into current issues and the latest science: Meet the Experts. At stand 4D23, Mahle Hall 4, experts from the Wissenschaftliche Gesellschaft Lasertechnik e.V. (WLT) will be ready to talk and share their experiences and knowledge gained from research and development projects as well as provide information on funding and networking opportunities.

The 34 WLT members are heads of large scientific institutions that are mainly concerned with the generation, amplification, shaping, transmission, measurement and application of laser radiation. These include both university institutions and institutes of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, the Max Planck Society, the Leibniz Association, the Helmholtz Association and other non-university institutions.

All information on WLT: Meet the Experts is available here.

Solution Center: valuable suggestions for production processes

Under the banner of “Solution Center – Meet the experts”, six renowned institutes and research facilities will be available to answer all LASYS trade visitors’ questions regarding laser material processing: the Institut für Strahlwerkzeuge (IFSW), Bayrisches Laserzentrum GmbH (blz), the Fraunhofer Institute for Material and Beam Technology IWS, the Laser Zentrum Hannover (LZH), Bremer Institut für angewandte Strahltechnik GmbH (BIAS) and the Hochschule Mittweida (Mittweida University of Applied Sciences). All research facilities offer the opportunity to exchange ideas with the experts about current and future applications of lasers and to get valuable suggestions for your production processes.

More information on the services that the research facilities are offering at LASYS is available here.
